Bestway Has Already Helped Importer Clients Recover Tens of Millions in IEEPA Tariffs

When refunds became available from the payment of now-defunct IEEPA tariffs, the Bestway team realized our clients might benefit from a little help with the process.

So we reached out to all the importers for whom we served as brokers during the transactions in question – letting them know we’d be glad to handle the process of applying for and securing the refunds.

Our clients know a good offer when they see it, and more than 75 percent of the importers involved in those transactions have asked us to take care of securing the refunds. To date, we have secured tens of millions of dollars for them.

“We monitor it, give the clients weekly updates and make sure the funds get back in their accounts,” said Bestway Vice President Jack McDonough. “The fact that this many of our clients wanted us to handle this is a testament to the trust they have in us.”

The refunds are secured through the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol’s CAPE system. Only the actual importer or the broker who handled the original transaction are allowed to process CAPE declarations – so unfortunately Bestway is only able to help its own clients from these particular transactions.

“Our team’s dedication on this issue was exceptional,” said Bestway CEO Jay Devers. “They immediately recognized how important their support would be for our clients on this and really took the initiative. It’s great to see our clients receiving the funds that are rightly theirs, and I’m very proud of our team for doing so much to help make it happen.”

Let all importers take note, though: Become a Bestway client, and we will leave no stone unturned to serve you.
