Team Member Profile: Josh Harris

Josh Harris has been on Bestway International’s radar for some time now. Longer than you might imagine.

“Riley Wiles and I have known each other since we were 10 years old,” Josh explains. “And we did some projects together when I was doing my own brokerage.”

Sometimes it’s a slow burn for two parties to come together, but when the right time presents itself, it’s really right.

So when Josh joined Bestway at the start of July as a senior account executive, it was the culmination of a great idea for a pairing that could hardly not happen at some point. Not when so many things were aligned to make it work.

At Bestway, Josh’s primary responsibilities are to manage issues involving import, export, customs brokerage and North America transportation.

“My role is to go into businesses, dissect their whole supply chain and point out areas where we might be able to provide value and create a solution for them,” Josh explained.

Josh has been in the logistics and supply chain industry since 2015, starting with Freightquote when it was part of C.H. Robinson, and then moving on to opportunities with Hub Group, Kuehne+Nagel and ultimately OEM Group.

All the while, he knew what was going on at Bestway, and he had a good idea what he could contribute to make a good story even better.

“This is an unreal opportunity to come in and help a company grow,” Josh said. “And it give me access to all of North America as opposed to just a segment. Then you consider everything we have at our fingertips as far as AI, sales tools, internal tools – all the technology and the offerings and the versatility we can provide our customers.”

Another appealing aspect of joining Bestway, Josh said, is the company’s membership in WCAworld, which allows flexibility, as well as access to global partners and resources to aid in arranging international trade.

But it really starts right here at the center of it all.

“The industry is a small world, and I’m working again with people I’ve worked with at previous stops, so I know how good they are,” Josh said. “We have a group of people who can take the company really, really far.”

That competitive streak in Josh is nothing new. It’s been on display since he was a teenager, competing at high levels of youth hockey and making it as an alternate on the U.S. national team for his age group. His love of hockey remains to this day, as he personally crafts custom hockey gloves to provide to young people who might not be able to afford top-of-the-line equipment but want to play the game.

He is also a new dad, as he and his wife nine months ago welcomed a new son named Axel – who joins a family that also includes two doodle dogs.

“My wife and I have been married coming up on three years,” he said. “That’s exciting. I’m out of the basement now, but no promises!”

Welcome to Bestway, Josh!
